Famous Palm Beach in Florida battles smelly seaweed slush due to global warming and human waste

This week the mercury in the famous Palm Beach in Florida easily reaches 26 degrees Celsius. The beaches are normally packed, but now tourists are staying away. The white sand is now taken over by odorous seaweed, which washes ashore en masse. Global warming is making things worse every year, experts say, and too much nutrient-rich waste — such as sewage containing human faeces or agricultural fertilizers — leaks into the ocean, making the smelly seaweed thrive.
