‘Ellie’ the dog rescued by Dunmore East RNLI after 30m cliff fall

Members of Dunmore East RNLI are being praised for their efforts after they safely returned Ellie, a dog that had fallen over a 30 metre cliff, to her owners.Ellie fell onto a ledge just above sea level about half a mile east of Portally Cove in Co Waterford. The Dunmore East RNLI lifeboat launched at the request of the Irish Coast Guard at 2pm once the alarm was raised and they set off immediately to locate Ellie. Thankfully Ellie was unharmed after the incident. The dog was brought back to Dunmore East harbour where she was reunited with her family.
