ARCHIVE: Fáilte Ireland's post-lockdown ad encourages 'staycation' as domestic travel restriction lifted


A €2.5 million domestic marketing campaign kicks off today, as domestic travel restrictions ease and Irish people are free to travel around the country from Monday, June 29.

"We’ve spent months dreaming about #WhenWeTravelAgain and now we’re finally going to be able to pack our bags and head off, we’ll feel like kids waking up on Christmas morning," Fáilte Ireland says.

"‘Make a Break for It’ is all about that excitement, anticipation, fun and drama of packing your bags and getting ready to hit the road on your break away.

"Everyone will see a piece of themselves in it whether it’s counting down the days on the calendar or making sure ‘everyone’s been to the toilet’ before getting into the car!"

The TV ad was directed by Brendan Canty, who also directed 'Keep Discovering', which launched just before the pandemic hit.

It was filmed in four homes in Cork City just last week.
