holiday hotspot

Margaret Carragher

As property investment hot-spots go, Paphos in Cyprus takes some beating. Even Aphrodite, goddess of lurve, had a soft spot for the place, springing starkers from the waves off its coast to frolic with Adonis. But enough of ancient history -- back to maths.

The original capital of Cyprus and a World Heritage site, Paphos attracts more than 800,000 tourists per annum -- including at least 10,000 well-heeled and spiked Pringles. Little wonder, then, that it delivers -- by far -- the highest rental yields on the island.

Now, Global Invest of Mullingar have launched two projects here, both by developers Stathis Koupanos, a highly reputable company catering to an ever-growing demand from clients worldwide.

Both developments are within strolling distance of the sea and just five kilometres from Paphos International Airport, the Secret Valley golf course and the renowned Aphrodite Hills PGA golf course and spa. Both feature a mix of spacious one- and two-bed apartments and two-bed townhouses with sea views, in a typical Cypriot village setting.

Facilities include a large swimming pool, a children's play area, male and female changing facilities and showers, and relaxation areas with sun loungers and umbrellas. Units come with designer kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes, and a dual electrical/solar heating system.

Very nice.
