All the bad girls love an Irish heel
SEX kitten Eva Longoria is set to show off the work of an Irish shoe designer in an upcoming episode of hit TV show Desperate Housewives. The tiny star will wear towering heels by Dublin designer Eileen Shields on the saucy US series.
Gorgeous Eva is desperate for Eileen's creations. The divine purple stilettos were custom-made for the Latino lovely, hot on the heels of a request from the show's wardrobe department.
A thrilled Eileen, 33, revealed that Eva - whose racy character has been shown on the show doing housework in little more than a set of killer heels - sent temperatures soaring on set in the 4.5-inch suede peep-toes.
"Eva was beautiful in the shoes," Eileen said. "We can't release details of the scene, but suffice it to say she looked truly stunning."
And the designer has even named the sizzling shoes after muse Eva. The hot heels are expected to sell out when they go on sale for ?432 in autumn.
"They turned out so well that they've been included in our Fall 2007 collection and are already a top seller," she added.
Eileen is fast overtaking exclusive brands Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo among the Hollywood A-list.
Style icons Kate Moss, Halle Berry, Courteney Cox and Samantha Morton are just some of the big names who have stepped out in her delectable designs. And the entrepreneur, who graduated from the National College of Art and Design, has also become the darling of fashion bibles Vogue and Elle magazine.
It's the second time star Eva has strutted her stuff down Wisteria Lane in a pair of Eileen Shields shoes. Earlier this year, she wore red nail-stilettos by the designer.
"I was so tickled to see Eva wearing my red shoes on the show," Eileen added. "Those shoes would definitely bring out the daredevil in anyone; you never know what they might make you do."
Eileen, who moved to New York in 1988, has her label in more than 40 boutiques and department stores worldwide. But Irish fashionistas can get their hands on her heels at the boutique she co-owns in Dublin, 5 Scarlet Row, and at Brown Thomas.
