Based on Ken Bruen’s mystery novels, the TV depiction of Jack Taylor was a blend of Bergerac and Red Rock, with the mandatory bang of Ballykissangel in between. Starring Scottish actor Iain Glen’s precarious Wesht of Ireland accent, some familiar bit-part actors, and the gritty streets of Galway, it’s a wonder it managed to last as long as it did.
