Macra na Feirme is an Irish voluntary rural youth organisation.
The country’s farm organisations have responded to the newly published draft 2030 Agri-Food Strategy – a pivotal document that sets out the direction of travel for national food production over the coming decade.
In May 2015 the IFA had over 88,000 members, making it by far the largest and most powerful farmer lobby group in the country. However, a pay scandal later that year rocked the association to its core and damaged its reputation among farmers as well as those further afield.
Sleeping on the streets is a reality many people have to face over the Christmas period. In an effort to raise funds for the Mid West Simon Community to help the homeless, Limerick Macra na Feirme has been hosting a 'Sleep Out for Simon' event in December for the last number of years.
