For more than half his five-film tenure with the 007 franchise — beginning with 2006’s Casino Royale and ending with last year’s No Time To Die — the actor repeatedly expressed a desire to quit the iconic role. “I’ve been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it,” he told Rolling Stone back in 2012, shortly before the release of Skyfall.
