Wagatha Christie and the stray ‘g’, TikTok nuns and the numbers up for maths
A moment please for comedian Dan Atkinson, the man who coined the term Wagatha Christie in a viral tweet three years ago. This week, he wrote about his “gift to headline writers everywhere”. However, when the celebrity court case of the year returned, he noticed that the origin of the name was being credited to a Belgian woman. Confused, he revisited his original tweet and was devastated to realise he had “included a stray g” and spelled it Wagagtha Christie. Thus, technically he was not the first person to tweet “Wagatha”. He said: “That stray ‘g’ will haunt me until I am under the ground, a gravestone above me with the inscription… ‘RIGP’.”
