Time to dust off that wedding dress! Irish event aims to set new world record for largest gathering of brides
A brilliant reason to break out that gorgeous gúna again (and maybe even to finally have it dry cleaned?!)
Recent (and not-so-recent!) brides are being urged to break out their wedding dresses and 'Rock the Frock' yet again at a huge event at one of Ireland's most popular hotspots later this summer.
'Rock the Frock 2018' aims to break the current record for the largest gathering of 'brides' in the world, while also raising vital funds for three worthy causes.
The event - which is being dubbed 'the wedding party of the year’ - will be held this September in Dublin nightclub Copper Face Jacks, and aims to raise money for the Marie Keating Foundation, Pieta House and 180th Lucan South Scout Group.
Men and women are encouraged to come along to the event, which will aim to break the world record of 'largest gathering of brides' which was set by Suzhou Huqiu Bridal Investment Co. in China, when they managed to get 908 brides into one venue in October 2016.
The fundraiser is the brainchild of Ann Power and Sheena Crotty, and was launched by broadcasters Anna Daly and Sile Seoige and a host of brilliant brides in the Phoenix Park who announced the event which will take place on September 15th.
“I was thrilled to be asked to be involved in supporting the launch of Rock The Frock 2018 – such a fun and quirky idea and great fun too!" said Sile Seoige. "Whatever your age, male or female, throw on a wedding dress, come down and join in on the fun on September 15.”
