If you’re hosting a 2019 wedding and haven’t a clue where to start with planning, this could be your day, because a TV company are currently looking for couples in need of help in planning the day of their dreams.

RTÉ2 show My Big Day: Home or Away returns next year after a successful first airing this March, and they’ve put out an open casting for newly engaged couples.

The chosen couples will be shown the services of two wedding planners, who will each plan a custom wedding for the couple at home here in Ireland, and one abroad.

Wedding planners Bruce Russell and Tara Fay will battle it out to create the dream wedding for the couple, and the couple will choose which planner’s wedding they go with- whether it’s somewhere exotic or in the green fields of Ireland.

Voted Best Wedding Planner by ELLE International, Bruce Russell has worked on weddings in the iconic Savoy Hotel in London and The Plaza in New York to create stunning wedding plans, while Irish woman Tara Fay - who founded her own company Xena Productions in 1997 - was the brains behind Rosanna Davidson’s glamorous wedding to Wesley Quirke several years ago.

In the first episode earlier this year, Cork couple Kate Browne and Peter Twomey had to choose between an outdoor venue in sunny Portugal, or a farm wedding in their native Cork.

After lengthy deliberation, the couple went with Mr Russell’s destination wedding in sunny Carvoeiro in the Algarve region of Portugal.

If you’re unsure where to start for a destination wedding, this could be the perfect opportunity as the planning work will be done for you.

And if you decide to go with the Irish wedding, you still get a holiday to check out the ‘away’ wedding setup! Win!
