Exclusive: 'I was talked into us all performing C'est La Vie with the band!' - B*Witched star Keavy Lynch on her wedding
We speak to the C'est La Vie singer about her "emotional" big day and her surprise performance with fellow B*Witched band mates at the reception!
She's been hard at work in the studio writing a brand new album with fellow band mates recently, but B*Witched star Keavy Lynch managed to take a break from recording to tie the knot with partner Nathaniel Comer in an emotional and romantic ceremony in Somerset.
But work is never far from your personal life when you're a member of one of Ireland's most iconic girl groups, and even on her wedding day the beaming bride wasn't allowed to get away without treating guests to a performance of one of the band's most memorable hits.
"I was somehow talked into us all performing C'est La Vie with the band at the end of the night!" revealed Keavy, who has just returned home from honeymooning in Cornwall. "Everyone loved it!"
Keavy isn't the only partner with musical chops however, and as a member of chamber choir Chantage, groom Nathaniel was able to pull a few strings to get the award-winning group to provide the music for the couple's emotional ceremony.
"We were so lucky to have them sing at the ceremony," said Keavy, "it was spine tinglingly beautiful."
The choir performed 'The Rose' from the movie Stardust as the bride walked up the aisle, while other hymns included 'Be thou my vision', 'Jerusalem', Richard Allain's 'Cana's Guest' and 'This Marriage' by Eric Whitacre.
Fellow band members Edele, Lindsay and Sinead also added their voices to the stirring ceremony music with their version of traditional Irish hymn "Ag Críost an Síol".
The beaming bride wore a classic strapless satin princess-style ball gown by designer Grace Philips, which featured a pearl embellished belt, pockets and two-metre long train to the back. "I knew as soon as I put it on that it was for me," said Keavy. "I felt so comfortable it in and very me."
The couple exchanged vows in the historic Wells Cathedral, where Keavy admits to getting "particularly emotional" despite managing to keep her nerves at bay.
"I was not nervous at all. I was just so happy and knew that I am marrying the love of my life."
"I saw Nathaniel take a deep breath when he first saw me and looked to the ground to compose himself. I just couldn't wait to get to the front and say I do."
When it came to planning, Keavy and Nathaniel managed perfectly by sharing the to-do list and making sure they let each other know what was what.
"I have to say planning it went really smooth for us. We communicated with each other on everything and split tasks up so we could share the load. We really enjoyed the process."
The bride also enjoyed the party aspect of wedding planning, which included spending quality time with her female friends and family members.
"I had the most amazing hen," said Keavy."We went to Centre Parks and had some great quality time with all the special women in my life."
Keavy, 37, and Nathaniel, got engaged on a beach in Maui, where the ultra romantic groom pulled off a Hollywood style proposal.
"We were getting ready to go out for dinner on our last night," Keavy recalls, "Nathaniel gave me a little gift with a note that said "Go to the wardrobe and open the red suit bag. If you remember it from Barbados and still like it, put it on and meet me down at the beach.".
In it there was a dress Keavy has seen on a holiday the year before; "but I wouldn't dare buy myself!"
"I went down and he was down the very end of the beach by the rocks. He had candles all around... We sat and enjoyed the sunset sipping champagne together for a while and then Nathaniel said he had one more gift.
It was a photo book of our relationship since day one [with] beautiful words written all the way through and on the last page there was a sunset and it said "Will you marry me?" When I lifted my head he had the most beautiful ring in his hand."
Keavy and B*Witched are currently back in the studio writing a new album and will tour UK and Ireland this year.
