Royal watchers and fashionistas may have experienced a little head tilt when it was reported that Israeli designer Inbal Dror, known for her plunging necklines, sheer bodices and ultra-embellished wedding dresses, had been asked to sketch a dress for the 2018 British royal wedding.

Not least as Meghan Markle, the U.S actress due to marry fifth in line to the British thrown Prince Harry, was once quoted as saying; "classic and simple is the name of the game. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical and subtly romantic."

However, it appears that the boundary-pushing modern designer may be in line to create what is sure to be one of the most iconic gowns of the decade, as a spokesperson for the design house reveals that they have been contacted with a request for a potential wedding dress sketch.

“We received a request from the royal family to send a sketch,” a spokesperson for the label confirmed to PEOPLE. “Unfortunately it’s a secret and I can’t give more details about the sketch.”

Sketches of the potential gowns were leaked yesterday, with TMZ publishing several of the drawings of two gowns featuring high necklines, big sleeves and ruffled underskirts.

While thoroughly modern in their design, Inbal Dror's dresses exude a real regal feel; her luxurious, breathtaking trains could rival those of past princesses, while long lace sleeves and Victorian style high necks also add somewhat of an olde-world feel to designs.

However many of the gowns are given an edginess, with thigh high splits, deep V-backs, form-fitting mermaid style silhouettes and plunging necklines making them some of the the lusted-after gowns on the likes of Pinterest.

The marrying of elegant, luxurious features with contemporary, feminine silhouettes, could be the perfect mix for the former Suits actress, who is known for her chic, pared-back style day to day, but who appears to have some fun with a more glamorous look on the red carpet.
