'The last thing I want is to be one of those brides' - Bláthnaid Treacy reveals 'frugal' plans for upcoming wedding
She said 'yes' just over a month ago but Bláthnaid Treacy is waisting no time talking wedding plans.
The RTE star, who got engaged to musician boyfriend Charlie Moon while on holiday in Mexico last month, says she's keen to have her wedding in Ireland - and is trying to be very 'frugal' about it.
Speaking to VIP magazine, the Can't Stop Dancing presenter revealed that she's shocked about many aspects of planning a wedding already, particularly that brides are expected to book an appointment to try on dresses in a bridal store, and that 'weddings are expensive!'.
"I'm being so frugal about it," she said about planning the big day. "And the last thing I want is to be one of those brides up to ninety and not enjoying their day."
"Obviously there will be some things that we just can't avoid but I wouldn't be spending tens of thousands of euro. Once you start looking up weddings you're like, 'Wow, weddings are expensive'."
Bláthnaid announced her engagement to her college boyfriend Charlie in August when he popped the question on a beach in Mexico with an 18 CT. 1960's yellow gold vintage ring, which he chose with his jewellery designer mother, after speaking to Bláthnaid's father about proposing.
"I couldn't believe it when he was holding it. I was like 'That is the perfect ring for me'."
