It feels outdated to refer to something as 'hip' but when you're talking cool, ultra boho Brit label Needle & Thread, you'd be forgiven for using the rather retro term.
ou see, while the collection is full of vintage romance and Victorian-inspired silhouettes, there is also a distinct 70s vibe to Needle & Thread's Autumn/Winter bridal offering, apparent in their flower-child-feel long bell sleeves, lashings of layers and sparkling, signature floral motif embroidery.
The entire carefree feel of the collection is captured perfectly in their lookbook - an overall accessory-less bride, her hair worn down loose with minimal make-up, allowing the soft and romantic gowns to sparkle and move.
It's a romantic collection to say the least, inspired by the works of Danish painter P.S Kroyer and his wife Marie, whom the label has taken as an inspiration for their soft, dream-like palette of greys and pretty pinks.
Delicate lace layers, intricate embellishments and beautiful silk ribbon detailing ties the collection together, with each gown appearing to be as much about comfort as style (something a lot of brides can take for granted until the big day!)
Silhouette-wise Needle & Thread is as flattering as they come, with cinched in waists and feminine A-line skirts. High necklines make this an elegant offering, and long sleeves all the more refined.
The playful side comes out in the detailing - sparkling floral motifs, ruffle tulle trims and intricate scalloped bordering, while the dresses are made just a little bit sexy with they hint of a keyhole back.
New to the label's range are the Marie, Pearlescent and Roses gown. The couture-inspired Marie, which take its inspiration form antique lace, offers endless tiers of soft frills in tulle while the champagne-hued Pearlescent demands attention with its semi-sheer body and Victorian-inspired high neck.
Roses, in grey, sparkles with floral motifs and offers the currently on-trend fluted sleeve - a style which has stood the test of time from the Victorian era through to today.
The colour palette is alternative but muted, with warm dusty blues, dove greys, soft pinks and champagne making for a more delicate and light dress - ideal for the bride looking for something different and a real twist on the tradtional.
These gúnas are for the 'garden party' brides who favour a cool, laid back style but want to sparkle on their wedding day. They're dreamy and although beautifully hand-beaded and full of sequins, don't detract from the bride's natural beauty.
