Your wedding day make-up has a lot to contend with - here's the products the pros use to make sure their bride's a picture perfect all day long
Your wedding day make-up is special.
It just has to be.
What other day are you kissed non-stop by teary neighbours and friends, before you're faced with a professional photo shoot the results of which will hang on the walls of your family home for everyone to see 'till the end of time?!
So with that in mind, we asked some of Ireland's top make-up artists what are their go-to foundations for long lasting wedding wear.
"I love Face & Body from MAC for a lovely light sheer and dewy finish. This is beautiful for the natural bride. These days, the modern bride is used to wearing make up and is not afraid to experiment and to have a stronger look. For this reason, I use Ken Boylan HD Foundation. Is is so silky and smooth but gives a medium to full coverage without being heavy on the skin. It is suitable for all skin types and even better it is designed by an Irish make up artist!"
"For the 'pro' touch in my kit my secret weapon is Airbrush! I never do make up without having my airbrush system on standby. I have been using airbrush make up for seven years and the excitement on a morning when ladies hear they will be treated to this. It really looks like you have been airbrushed but it is lighter than most foundations. It is breathable and hydrating but has a concealer and powder formula built in to guarantee eight hours without touch ups and looks like part of your own skin at its best."

"For foundations it really depends on the bride and their skin but the ones I use most regularly are Armani Power Fabric, YSL Le Teint and Nars All Day Luminous. All of these foundations have great staying power but also photograph really well which is so important for an occasion like a wedding."

"My number one foundation for brides is Nars Sheer Glow, it gives the most beautiful coverage with just the right amount of dewiness to it to perfect that subtle glow that all brides love to have! This would be best suited for anyone that is on the drier side. For anyone with oily skin that wants a great full coverage foundation with staying power, Estée Lauder Double Wear is the one for them! It's so good."

"My favorite foundation at the moment is Sisley Anti Aging Foundation Le Teint - a beautiful skin like finish and so easy to apply. Also in my kit is the HD liquid foundation from Catrice and it lasts on the skin for up to 24 hours."

"In my opinion the best foundation out there for brides is Mac Pro Longwear. It is 15 hour lasting, full cover but unlike the other 'longwear' foundations out there that may stay on but always make the skin look dry and dehydrated by midday, and feel really tight and heavy. This one doesn't. It's not matte or dewy but more velvety and really leaves a beautiful polished finish on the skin. It also feels light on the skin. It stays on all day and looks fresh at all times. It's waterproof/humidity proof too. It's really the perfect foundation for brides as it's also what keeps all the other make up on too."
