First glimpse of Meghan Markle's engagement ring
Royal watchers today were treated to a glimpse of Meghan Markle's brand new three-stone engagement ring, which Prince Harry reportedly had commissioned specially for his bride-to-be.
It is said that Prince Harry designed the engagement ring himself - and if it's true he could have a job as a jeweller as Meghan's sparkler is quite the piece!
At its centre is a diamond from Botswana, a place that holds a special place in the heart of the prince, and the ring also features two outside stones from the Prince's late mother Princess Diana's personal jewellery collection.
The ring was made by Cleave and Company, Court Jewellers and Medallists to Her Majesty The Queen. It is set on a yellow gold band.
The pair made their first official appearance together at Kensington Palace on Monday afternoon, only their second ever official engagement in their relationship. The photographs were set in the palace's White Garden, aka the Sunken Garden, which is a memorial dedicated to celebrating Princess Diana's life.Meghan Markle's engagement ring to feature Princess Diana's diamonds
The couple arrived hand in hand with Meghan stunning in a white trenchcoat, nude heels and was seen affectionately rubbing her fiancé's arm as they made their way down the steps towards photographers.
Asked how he proposed and if it was romantic, the Prince shouted "of course it was romantic!"
Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth and grandfather Prince Philip said they were "delighted" for their grandson and his bride-to-be, and "wish them every happiness".
His brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton released a statement saying: "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."
