Dramatic Eurovision proposal steals the show

Eurovision first as Macedonian contestant's partner pops the question

The Eurovision has it all - glitz, glamour, a little more glitz... But last night's semi-final added something brand new to the mix - Romance!

There were dramatic scenes in the Eurovsion semis last night as one contestant stole the show off the stage when her boyfriend popped the question live on air.

In her interview segment, Macedonian contestant Jana Burceska revealed she was expecting a baby before her boyfriend dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him.

Visibly shocked and sobbing, the Eurovision hopeful accepted the ring before the couple shared a kissed.

However BBC viewers were left reeling when they realised that they wouldn't see the Eurovision first.

Taking to social media, fans expressed their disappointment that the channel chose to omit the special moment one viewer called "The Best Moment of Tonight!".

"THERE WAS A PROPOSAL AND #bbceurovision SKIPPED IT??! #Eurovision" wrote one dismayed fan on Twitter.

It was all Champagne celebrations in the Macedonian camp until the entry failed to make it through to the finals however.

Ireland's hopes were also dashed when Brendan Murray crashed out during the second semi-final in Kiev last ngiht.
