It was a summer wedding in the garden of Ireland as actress, writer and director Alexandra McGuinness, daughter of former U2 manager Paul McGuinness, married Blake Berris, the Emmy-nominated US actor.
Despite their high profile in the world of film, the low- key couple chose a family wedding celebrated at the picturesque Killiskey Parish Church at Nun's Cross near Ashford, not far from the bride's family home.
The Gothic Revival 200-year-old church, influenced by architect Francis Johnston and with connections to Sir Roger Casement and JM Synge, was bathed in sunlight as the bride arrived.
The couple celebrated their wedding in the midst of their latest creative collaboration, a new movie called Highway which is being shot in New Mexico, mostly in Albuquerque.
Alexandra is the director of the movie, her first major feature since the highly regarded Lotus Eaters in 2011, while Blake leads an all-star cast.
A native of Minneapolis, he celebrated his 33rd birthday last week.
Blake is best known in the US as a former star in the iconic soap opera, Days Of Our Lives. More recently he appeared in Breaking Bad, The Big Bang Theory and Pretty Little Liars. His parents, Ken and Lauren, are both well-known screen writers.
Alexandra was steeped in the arts at a young age. She began as an actor, including brief appearances in RTE's The Clinic - written by her mother, Kathy Gilfillan - but moved to London to study screen writing and gradually moved behind the cameras as a writer and director.
Proud mum Kathy, director of The Lilliput Press, and dad Paul were joined by family for the ceremony in Ashford.
In November 2013, Paul McGuinness confirmed that he was stepping down as manager of U2 after more than 30 years at the helm when announcing the sale of his Principle Management to international music giant, Live Nation. And among the wedding guests were Bono with his wife Ali, as well as The Edge and other members of the U2 family.
Bono had been asked to sing the national anthem at the McGregor/Mayweather extravaganza in Las Vegas - but the singer turned down the offer so that he could attend yesterday's Wicklow wedding.
