Another Royal Wedding? Princess Beatrice 'engaged' to long term boyfriend
Britain's Princess Beatrice has quietly gotten engaged, according to reports.
The British royal has been dating Dave Clark for nearly eight years, with the pair enjoying a Caribbean break over the New Year.
It was while holidaying in St. Barts that Dave, a Virgin Galactic executive, is said to have got down on one knee.
"Dave has wanted to ask Beatrice to marry him for some time and has been planning it for months. He had originally intended to do it back in October, but then work got incredibly busy after the tragic Virgin Galactic crash, so he decided to wait and did it on holiday instead. Dave is a traditional guy," a source told British magazine Grazia.
Beatrice is the granddaughter of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, and the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
The news will no doubt be a joyous occasion for the family, who are currently battling a media storm over Prince Andrew's friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
It's thought Beatrice and Dave have only told their nearest and dearest of the engagement.
"They are just telling family and a select group of friends for now and everyone expects that an announcement will be made in the spring. Beatrice couldn't be happier," the source smiled.
Beatrice is first cousins with Britain's Prince William, and was a guest at his lavish 2011 wedding to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
However it's thought the 26-year-old would rather emulate her other cousin, Zara Phillips', nuptials.
"They haven't even thought about it yet but it will likely be a more private affair, like Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall's," the insider added.
