A recent survey reveals the digital trends for brides.

News and social media website Mashable and wedding site TheKnot.com undertook a joint survey to investigate the habbits of couples when it comes to publicising their engagement.

The results highlight that women are “digitising their big day” from inspirational mood boards to honeymoon snaps posted in real time.

Within hours of saying “yes,” 28% of brides-to-be update their social media statuses, while 24% do so the next day.

A staggering 70% of women were already pinning ideas onto Pinterest mood boards before their fiancé popped the question.

Half of those surveyed admitted they became more realistic with their pins when they knew their wedding was actually in the pipeline.

An even bigger figure- 89%- admit to downloading wedding apps for their smartphones, which help them make checklists, source dresses and keep on track on appointments.

The phenomenon of special hashtags for the day of the nuptials is continuing to garner popularity, with more than 55% of those surveyed had used a wedding hashtag.

In contrast, over 30% are asking guests to limit what the post on social media, as they dislike having no control over what is posted.
