Sizing is everything... so your bust sits where it should

We should all dress from the inside out, writes our fashion editor, who is a big fan of getting professionally measured so your bust sits where it should (you might even discover your waist again...)

Getting fitted for the right size bra should be a mandatory January resolution for every female who wants her clothes to fit better. But, for some reason, we tend to treat it almost like a trip to the dentist - when, in fact, it is painless and very rewarding when your bustline is positioned correctly and your clothes hang infinitely better.

This week, I was speaking with Rachelle Hanley, Arnotts accessories and lingerie buyer, in advance of their lingerie department moving location, from top of the stairs to a new home at the Middle Abbey Street end of the first-floor fashions.

Interestingly, Rachelle reports how this season they've continued to "grow the fashion lingerie offer for the fuller- busted customer.

"It really is the fuller cup size where we are seeing the continued demand for fashion lingerie, whether that is recolourations of best-selling styles or unique and special pieces, and there are stunning lace and embroidered styles offered from A right through to H cups.

"When shopping for lingerie, I would always suggest getting fitted by one of our consultants. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to fitting the style to best suit your shape and size. Also, everyone's size changes throughout their life so it is really important to check that you are wearing the right size. I can not stress enough the difference wearing the correct size will have on how you look and feel.

"This season is all about delivering a real traditional feminine feel, with a sweet pastel palette which keeps the trend dainty and delicate. With hues of ice-cream shades and pretty florals, brands like Ralph Lauren, B. Tempt'd and Ginia delivered this trend beautifully.

"Another major trend for SS18 is a strong, bold colour palette with really vibrant and fun pieces in some of our most popular brands - from hot pinks to strong shades of red and Nile greens, giving the women who wear our pieces lots of confidence."
