Evangeline Lilly enjoys the best of both worlds: she has a career most actresses would kill for without having to endure the paparazzi stalking and downsides that comes with fame.
With starring roles in Lost, The Hobbit and now a foray into Marvel's vast (and lucrative) cinematic universe with Ant-Man, she's an unquestionable star and knows how to dress the part. The 38-year-old actress made a dazzling display on last night's red carpet for the Ant-Man and The Wasp premiere in Los Angeles, in a long sleeved structured silver dress with a daring side split that raised to the thigh.
It's the latest coup for relative newcomer August Getty Atelier, who counts Jennifer Lopez and Rachel McAdams.
Interestingly, Lilly also called out her male co-stars who complained that their superhero suits were uncomfortable, saying she's used to having to put on a brave face for the sake of looking good.
During an interview with Backstage OL, the interviewer asked about Paul Rudd's complaint that he needed a tool to scratch his back because of his constricting costume, she lifted up her high heels and said that men haven't had the same life experience of having to power through pain for the right look.
"I got into my suit and I was wearing it, working in it, doing my thing, and I was like, 'Just not that bad,'" she said.
"Do I have the most comfortable suit in the MCU, or have men not had the life experience of being uncomfortable for the sake of looking good?"
She went on to say she loved her costume and described it as "powerful, I think it's modern, it's strong, sexy. And it made me feel like a superhero."
Ant-Man stars Rudd, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas were also in attendance.
