'I honestly get more star struck meeting Dermot O'Leary' - Saoirse Ronan at the BAFTAs
Saoirse Ronan might be up for the Best Actress gong at the BAFTAs this evening, but she's totally unfazed by the awards.
The 23-year-old Oscar nominated star hit the red carpet ahead of the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall alongside names including Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence and Octavia Spencer.
However, she told red carpet host Edith Bowman that she does not get star struck, unless she meets Edith's red carpet co-host...
"I honestly get more star stuck meeting Dermot O'Leary!" she laughed. "So many of us have been going to awards shows and events over the last five months so we've all gotten to know each other quite well. It's nice. It feels a bit more of a community."
Saoirse (23) is up for the Best Actress BAFTA for her role in Greta Gerwig's coming of age story Lady Bird but faces stiff competition from Annette Bening for Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri, Margot Robbie for I Tonya, and British actress Sally Hawkins for The Shape of Water.
