He has shared a Guinness with everyone from President Barack Obama to Salman Rushdie and now another special person has said she longs to pull up a bar stool with Bono.

Fresh from the Victoria's Secret fashion show in which she wore a $2m (€1.68m) Victoria's Secret Fantasy Bra - which featured 6,000 gemstones and took 350 hours to make - model Lais Ribeiro has said she wants to visit Ireland and share a pint of the black stuff with the U2 frontman.

As the lingerie brand prepares to throw open the doors of its store on Grafton Street, Lais told the Sunday Independent: "I have never been to Ireland, but I'm a huge fan of travel and different foods so I'd love to try something local with a nice pint, of course. I'm up for trying shepherd's pie and different stews. And if there was one person I could share a pint with, it would definitely be Bono.

"He is someone who has been in the business for such a long time and become such a success, but I think the most important thing is that he has used his fame for positive change around the world."

Lais - who is friends with top designer Stella McCartney, who she says is "one of the coolest girls you will ever meet... super down to earth and sweet" - also took time to share her tips to her jaw-dropping figure. And she says it's not about depriving herself.

"I love junk food and my hearty Brazilian foods, but I know that I have to also be mindful of the things I eat and keep everything in moderation… I really try to eat lots of fresh protein and veggies and work out at least three times per week."

Speaking about the new opening, Lais says Irish women are in for a festive treat: "Lingerie is very sexy and also empowering. You're bare and you have to feel really confident to put on a beautiful lingerie set under a great outfit. I think it sets the tone for your look and your mood."

The store will open this Tuesday in the old BT2 premises on Grafton Street and will contain both the full range of lingerie, loungewear and cosmetics, including the PINK brand.
