Get the look: Laura Whitmore
Trust the Whitmore to rethink the trench and give it a somewhat punkish edge. Not that we're knocking the classics, but it's always nice to see an alternative to the more usual 'I'm channelling Audrey Hepburn' take on the trench coat.
Leather trousers, a fringed handbag (one of our favourite take-aways from the 70s trend) and a red lip all serve to make this a more updated, but still fairly timeless, way to do autumn's perennial classic.
I'm wondering if you can help me, please. I have a family wedding coming up, and I am wearing a royal-blue dress with some bronze beading on the top half of the dress. I'm looking everywhere for some nice bronze shoes to match the dress, as I think they would look better than royal-blue shoes. I'm a size five-and-a-half.
Reply: The Haphazard sandals in gold - which are part of the Asos Collection line - have stiletto heels, an ankle strap and two thin straps across the toes, and come in half sizes, are just €49.76, and would be a good choice. The Asos Southy, a pair of nude, pointy-toe courts, €35.55, could also work with your dress. And check out the Host sandal, also from Asos; these are a pair of bronze heels, with an ankle strap and one strap across the toes, €54.03.
