Virginia's ready for big, phat Italian wedding
We've always known Virginia Macari has big things in front of her.
The stunning fashion designer and star of Dublin Housewifes will marry her Norwegian partner Kas Dahl in July of next year, I can reveal. The happy pair, who have a young baby, Thor, together, recently got engaged in New York's Central Park. Kas went down on one knee to propose. "We are going to my cousin Guiseppina Borza's wedding near Rome in three weeks," Virginia told me, adding that the trip will ostensibly "be to look at wedding venues. Don't tell Kas!"
OK, I won't.
Kas's two beautiful daughters -- Jeanelle (20) and Thea (12) -- by a previous relationship will be bridesmaids, while Thor will be the ring-bearer at the wedding next year. Virginia and Kas's big phat Italian wedding very definitely, however, won't be in or near Virginia's family home of Casal Vier.
Lest we forget, in July 2004 in Casal Vier, Virginia got married to Anthony Brennan in one of the most lavish and bling weddings of the decade for an Irish couple: 250 guests watched Virginia walk down the aisle in specially-made Jimmy Choo shoes and in a dress of antique Italian ivory lace, hand-stitched with more than 10,000 beads by her own hand, and a Tiffany diamond bracelet on her hand. It may have been the wedding of the decade but alas, the marriage didn't last the decade. Virginia, I am happy to say, is not one to look back in anger. Or anything else for that matter. "No -- we won't be getting married there!" Virginia told me with a chuckle. "I can't wait to marry Kas and have more babies with him."
That's the spirit. Or whatever they say in Italy.
