KATE MIDDLETON must really love her new Orla Kiely dress, as she chose to leave her coat at home and show off her new wool dress during a visit to Oxford this morning
The duchess chose a €190 “birdie” jacquard dress by the Irish born designer Orla Kiely and brown suede ankle boots as she arrived in Oxford to see the work of The Art Room, which helps disadvantaged children.
Clothing labels are known to experience a bounce in sales when the duchess wears their clothes. Reiss, one of the high street clothing chain favoured by the Duchess has posted a near doubling in profits thanks to the brand becoming “cooler and sexier”.
Orla Kiely is the second Irish designer the Duchess has worn. She wore a hat by Milliner Philip Treacy at an official royal function last June and is expected to wear him again for the Jubilee celebrations.
The birdie dress was reduced from its original price of €382 on orlakiely.com, but no doubt copy-Kates can expect Kiely to produce something very similar to the wool dress as it is already causing a stir on Twitter.
“LOVE.... I love Orla Kiely and love Kate's style... I wish I had her wardrobe!” posted one commentator.
