Lady Gaga has tweeted that Italian design house Versace are set to give the next leg of her world tour a very fashionable overhaul.

It seems we can hardly go a day without hearing whispers of Versace collaborating with one celebrity or another.

A couple of weeks ago we had some fruitless rumours about Lana Del Rey becoming the new face of the storied Italian design house, then last week singer M.I.A. claimed she was working on a collaborative project with them. Now, in the latest instalment, Lady Gaga has whipped up the rumour mill once again by tweeting that Versace will be custom-creating all of her costumes for the U.S. leg of her world tour, the Born This Way Ball.

THE BORN THIS WAY BALL is getting a face-lift for America. I heard rumors @VERSACE IS CUSTOM DESIGNING ALL THE CLOTHES AND NEW LOOKS," the singer not-so-cryptically tweeted yesterday.

So that explains why Gaga has been indulging in various vintage Versace outfits of late, including that safety pin dress famously worn by Liz Hurley . It also explains why Gaga and her dog Fozzi Bear were with Donatella at her Milan palazzo back in October , where they took to a balcony to greet the frenzy of adoring fans camped out

The attention-grabbing songstress has been a long-time fan of Donatella's. Last year she said she would wear only Versace for two months (which she didn't actually do, but it was a nice sentiment), and she has since slowly morphed into 'Gagatella', regularly sporting the designer's trademark hairstyle of long platinum locks.

We can't wait to see what creations this terrible twosome conjure up, we just hope none of them involve raw meat.
