For autumn/winter, the hot look for daywear is all about a flattering, tailored fit, but in a way that is comfortable, easy to wear and with contemporary twists. Kate & Ava is a Dublin-based label that has fast become renowned for its ultra feminine and tailored pieces, made from luxurious fabrics including wools, silks and jerseys.

Kate and Ava designs are classic but with an evolving freshness that adapts each season. The new daywear collection embodies the essence of the modern woman who knows who she is; she wants to look fabulous yet comfortable while doing it.

The A/W10 collection takes inspiration from urban city living with a hint of the disco era, so strong silhouettes in shimmering fabrics and vibrant colours feature heavily. Think electric blues and rich golds and you're on the right track. Though the pieces are structured, the use of ‘cosy’ fabrics such as weighty cotton jersey and wool crepe balances the tailored look. The infusion of bold detailing including draped silks and patterned metallic’s makes the perfect pieces for glamorous daytime chic.

The highlights of the collection include a red wool crepe mini-dress featuring this season’s strong shoulders and chic ‘A’ line skirt. The structure and colour of the dress mean that this is a strong and bold piece, but is comfortable, versatile and simple to take from day to night.

You should also look out for the amber and black silk printed mini-dress, perfect teamed with opaque tights and black suede wedge shoes. The draped V-neckline and pockets keep it laid back and easy to wear.

If you're after a bit of daytime glamour then this collection could be just what you need. The online shop is due to go live at the beginning of November but meanwhile, you can view the collections and stockists at
