Topshop and net-a-porter.com among winners at Global Fashion Awards
Christopher Bailey has been awarded the Hall of Fame accolade at the 2013 WGSN Global Fashion Awards.
The CEO of Burberry was handed the prestigious honour during the ceremony at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London last night, which recognised those influential in the world of fashion.
Christopher's title was given to him for having "furthered the interests of the industry, broken new ground and inspired the world", a statement reads. He follows in the footsteps of fashion stars such as Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki and renowned photographer Rankin.
Christopher landed his latest role earlier this month, taking over from former Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts. He is continuing his position as the chief creative officer of the British brand.
While Christopher emerged successful from the event, Victoria Beckham's jeans line lost out on the iSKO Denim Design Team trophy to brand G-Star RAW. The singer-turned-designer's label was successful at the 2012 ceremony.
Nicholas Kirkwood won in the best footwear and accessories category, beating fellow nominee Christian Louboutin.
Also triumphing last night was Erdem Moralioglu, who was named best womenswear designer, with Oliver Spencer taking home the men's version of the prize.
