After postponement of what should have been the first Toejam Car Boot Sale of 2010, the market is back with a bang.
After nearly a month in a weather-induced hermit state, I’m ready to let loose and head down to see what’s what. As usual, the gang at The Bernard Shaw are promising “grub, gargle and lots of good schtuff”.
Expect worn old books, vintage bags, broken lamps, dodgy 80’s shell tracksuits, tons of sequins and the odd designer piece too. I picked up some awesome framed NYC photos and a great pair of studded leather boots- all for €30.
There will also be two bikes on rollers doing 500m sprint races out in the smoking area, with clocks on big screen to ensure the winner gets their glory. All in aid of Haiti so if you’re brave or drunk enough you should give it a go. Otherwise, throw the Kamikaze cyclists a fiver.
Check it out and if you love it (which you’re bound to), you can always set up shop at the next one and sell your wares for a pretty penny!
