'This is our big passion'
Sibling design duo Keira and Dairine Kennedy are amongst the 13 young Irish fashion designers showcased in the CREATE pop-up installation at Brown Thomas.
The sisters run KDK Scarves, designing colourful scarves in cashmere wool (with prices starting at €250).
Both women are in full-time jobs, Keira works as a commercial sales manager for Leinster Rugby and Dairine is a sales manager in Google at their Irish HQ.
"We both have very busy day jobs but design is the dream, this is our big passion and it's evenings, weekends, all of the spare time we have," said Dairine at the CREATE launch.
"We started a year ago and it is amazing to think we are in BTs on the first birthday of our start-up."
Both sisters have also been inspired by the Sybil Connolly story.
"I think she was an amazing designer and a great businesswoman. She believed in what she was doing and she went for it," said Dairine.
