Dear Stylemma, I am looking for travelling clothes that are comfortable on a plane, but stylish, too. I don’t find jeans a suitable option, and I also need things that are easy to take off when I’m going through customs. Thanks. Turning the departure hall into a catwalk is no mean feat.

It’s difficult to remain calm, collected and chic when you’re sprinting through Terminal One, or traipsing through the endless security checks. Choose flat shoes or boots — Oasis’s Sienna Slouch Ankle Boots, €75, are a great option, and they’re easy to slip on and off. Striking the right balance temperature-wise an be tricky, so wear easy-to-remove layers: light Ts and fine knits with a coatigan: a cardigan that an be worn as a coat.

Harvey Nichols have great coatigans that would be ideal for a flight. The key to dressing for travel is to choose soft, stretchy fabrics, as they won’t dig into that post-Christmas waistline. We’d recommend going for a comfy jersey dress, such as Monsoon’s Celine-esque Lucy Stripe Dress, €59. Bon voyage!
