We need to talk about Kendall Jenner's hat at Marc Jacobs

When Kendall Jenner can't even pull it off, it's time to retire the trend.

Marc Jacobs' AW17 show at New York Fashion Week was met with the same acclaim as usual, except for one notable exception - this very questionable Dr Seuss style hat.

The brand's global creative director Guido Palau said the hats are intended to reflect the laid-back nature of the Marc Jacobs customer.

"It’s a very stylized, cool kind of downtown Marc Jacobs girl that’s got great fashion," he told People.

"We haven’t seen hats in a while. But when you notice [the models] coming in, they all have either a beanie or a baseball cap. It’s kind of reflecting their personal style too."

"Marc’s inspiration was the street and ’90s hip hop. We took the idea and made it bigger and more characterful. And the hair underneath is just gonna be each girl’s personality."
