If there's one particular that shoe that encapsulates mid-noughties fashion, it's the Valentino Rockstud.

The heels, which are stocked in luxury department stores including Brown Thomas and Harvey Nichols, and online, can barely stay on the shelves and its only real rival in popularity is the Gucci kangaroo fur-lined mule. They were first introduced in 2010, but it was only six years later that the frenzy had gone mainstream.

While prices may start at €550 for the most basic of styles, that hasn't stopped an army of dedicated women scooping up the shoes when they're in stock. Every blogger (including the Irish) worth her salt forked out up to €1,200 for the must-have heels to add some luxury to their wardrobes.

But when maxing out your credit card just isn't an option, Penneys have introduced a look-a-like pair for Irish shoppers this season. And we say...finally!

Their studded red heel comes it at just €16 and at the brand's recent Autumn/Winter press preview, they were one of the undisputed hero pieces of the new collection. The shoe will be in stores across Ireland from August to October, but like all good things in Penneys, get in there quick or it will be gone forever.
