Chrissy Teigen outdid everyone else at the American Music Awards.

The Sports Illustrated model (29) attended the exclusive awards ceremony with husband John Legend, who was nominated for Collaboration Of The Year for Like I'm Gonna Lose You with Meghan Trainor.

Never one to play second fiddle, she stole the show in a black dress with one of the highest slits we've ever seen.

Teigen relied on one, presumably sturdy safety pin to keep the side of her dress in place as the slit had been slashed past her abs.

Earlier in the day, we thought she was just being her down-to-earth when she joked about shaving above the knee. Little did we know.

She introduced her award-winning other half ahead of his performance of Love Me Now with a sweet tribute to his talent and a Donald Trump joke that was censored.

"So this next performer is a brilliant musician and a wonderful father, who makes a pretty d**n good breakfast sandwich," she began.

"And he has been known to write love songs about me. What can I say? I'm very inspiring.

"But his songs are bigger than either of us. And on the heels on what's been a really interesting f***ed up, f***ing election for all of us, I think we could all use a little love tonight.'
