The Met Gala is a New York institution.

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour chairs the annual event with her favourite celebrity du jour as her sidekick, for one of the most exclusive events on the fashion calendar and it's back again on Monday, May 2.

But as everything in the noughties, timeless design was not on everyone's mind.
