All eyes are on Kate Middleton, who announced her pregnancy two months ago, causing her to hire a new personal stylist.
Since returning to the limelight, Kate has pulled out all the stops with her public appearances.
So far we have seen a tailored Alexander McQueen coat dress, a sheer Temperley London frock and a leg-baring Jenny Packham gown.
Most noticeably, her signature nude kitten heels and wedges have disappeared.
According to Vanity Fair, Kate has hired a new stylist to help her hone a new look.
Was she left wounded after Hello magazine snubbed her in their list of the UK’s greatest style icons? A recent poll in the US by Women’s Wear Daily also revealed that her fashion influence was equal to that of Snooki, Kate Beckinsale and Paris Hilton.
So who is the woman behind her new makeover? None other than her former personal assistant, Natasha Archer.
The 27-year-old, who is a long serving member of staff at Kensington Palace, has reportedly been helping the Duchess “shop and experiment with some new looks.”
Kate (32) is due in the spring, and is said to be keen to appear more trendy and not look older than her age.
"Initially Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it," a source told Vanity Fair. "[Natasha] helps source some of the clothes. She shops a lot for Kate online, and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on. She has persuaded Kate to take some more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate’s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes."
Interestingly, it was an Irish woman who first noted the style credentials of Kate when she was William’s girlfriend.
Margaret McDonald, as CEO of LK Bennett, was captivated by Kate’s elegant and polished sense of style and would fast track new designs and styles to her.
Athy-born Margaret is now based in America after she was appointed president of Victoria’s Secret.
