Rosie Connolly gave up her job in May, to channel her energy into her online career.

The 25-year-old Dubliner is the first blogger and social media infleuncer to have signed to an official agency in Ireland.

Model agent Andrea Roche snapped her up last month, announcing the news on, where else, Instagram.

Roche, a former catwalk queen herself and owner of AR Model Agency in Dublin, said: "Bloggers are so powerful these days in the world of fashion and beauty so we have decided to be the first model agency in Ireland to represent some of Ireland's leading bloggers."

Rosie, a new mum to son Harry, was working in Arnotts when she decided to set up her blog Hearts, Heels and Handbags, to document her love of fashion and beauty.

When she fell pregnant with her son a year ago, her maternity-wear posts gained her hundreds of new followers.

"My following really started to grow when I was pregnant. That's when I realised I had very supportive and loyal followers, and decided to focus on blogging a lot more and give it more of my time. I noticed that big brands were starting to contact me and knew that I was getting noticed by the right people.

"I made the leap to give up my job back in May. I was due to go back to work with Arnotts as my maternity leave had ended, but decided that it was the right time to jump at the chance of a dream job, and begin blogging full time."

In between reviewing the latest baby products and posting about her fitness journey, Rosie says she "always loved the idea of modelling but being 5'5" meant I never gave it a second thought".

Now she's signed with Andrea, she's keen for her profile to expand beyond her 55,000 Instagram followers.

"There is a lot more to modelling than high-fashion catwalks, so Andrea assured me that my height will not cause any problems.

"Before signing, I was doing all of my networking and communication myself, which not only is time consuming, but is also limiting. While on maternity leave I wondered why no one had picked up on the gap in the market, as blogging was becoming so big in Ireland, yet there was no agency to turn to for guidance. I think Andrea has tapped into a huge market that is growing rapidly.

"I can't say any names at the moment but we have lots of exciting projects lined up with huge names.

"I only signed with the agency less than a month ago, and already the work is pouring in."
