Introducing smartphone app Mallzee - the 'Tinder for fashion lovers'
A new mobile phone app for style savy tech users, which appeared on Dragons’ Den last night, has secured a marketing partnership with Samsung.
The brains behind the app, Cally Russell, appeared on BBC Dragons Den last night but made the brave decision to walk away empty handed.
Following Cally’s pitch, investor Peter Jones offered £75K for a 20 percent stake in the company, but the 27-year-old CEO declined the offer as he did not want to give away that many shares.
In the run up to Christmas last year, Mallzee was the most searching application in the App Store. Impressed, Jones said he had a hunch that Mallzee might just be the next £100 million business.
Today, Mallzee announced that they will be partnering with Samsung in the UK and Ireland throughout 2015. As part of this partnership, Mallzee will be offering exclusive discounts for their customers - starting with 20% off at Warehouse.
Cally’s innovation has been described as the “Tinder for fashion” as both use nifty swiping interactions. Mallzee aims to “put the high-street into the shopper’s hand” as it incorporates over 100 fashion brands including Topshop and Reiss. which browsers can peruse and incorporate into their own ‘Style Feeds’.
The app also notifies shoppers when clothes they have previously ‘liked’ go down in price.
