Imelda May goes hell for leather in all-black ensemble out and about in Dublin
Let's take a moment for Imelda May.
After a whirlwind promotional tour earlier this year, the 42-year-old is back from a brief reprieve and promoting her new, critically acclaimed album and is bringing her ever evolving signature style.
After a sold-out performance at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Monday night, May was pictured looking effortlessly chic in all black ensemble as she made her way to RTE Radio for an interview.
She opted for a low-key look with a pair of black skinny jeans, boots and blouse and let her on-trend leather biker jacket do the talking and gave a nod to her former rockabilly days with a pair of vintage style cat-eye sunglasses.
Earlier this year, she revealed the reason behind her drastic makeover was a simple one - she felt it was overshadowing her music.
"It became too much of a thing, you know? It wasn't feeling like me. I'm a songwriter, I was getting more known for how I looked and my hair," she said on the Late Late Show.
"I'd produced my first two albums, I've written all my albums, and then you turn up to do interviews and they want to talk about your hair and your lipstick and your clothes.
"It just wasn't working for me in that way anymore, and then certainly for writing, I just wanted everything to stop and be calm and just breathe, and that's what I did.
"I went to the hairdressers, and felt great after like a lot of people do, and I decided to write an album."
