Amy Huberman's take on sequin loungewear for New Year's is a high street dream
Amy Huberman might downplay her style icon status, but the ease at which she pulls off sequin pyjamas is proof enough of her worthiness of the title.
Huberman (39), often regarded as one of Ireland's best dressed women, is a master at balancing high-low: she'll wear a pair of her Bourbon Footwear ankle boots with a €150 Joanne Hynes embellished cape, for example. But it's her New Year's style that puts new meaning to the idea of staying in.
To ring in 2019 last night, she shared an #OOTD picture on Instagram featuring a striped sequin lounge suit by cult high street store & Other Stories, the slightly more upscale sister brand to H&M and COS, with duo chrome black and white striped sequin ankle length trousers and a button down shirt with chest pocket, retailing for €99 per piece.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL," she wrote in the post accompanying her chic ensemble. "Threw on full sequins for chips and a drink and handy enough it sort of looked like pjs as was home by 10. Goodbye 2018 a year of inevitable highs, lows and everything in between but a year we made Finding Joy which terrified and delighted me in equal measure and for which I’m v grateful. But most importantly another trip around the sun with family and friends. Happy 2019 everyone; I hope it’s a dote."
If it's anything like the last 12 months, this year, which marks her 40th birthday, should be another treat.
