In a few short years Cheryl Cole has gone from chav-tastic to tan-tastic, but her stint on X Factor has made her a household name, and her hair and make-up are more talked about than the contestants' talent.

Cheryl wasn’t always such a glamour puss - back in the early days of Girls Aloud we saw Cheryl in her Adidas tracksuits and a tightly hair-sprayed ponytail. Thankfully her style has evolved somewhat and she’s now considered a fashion icon. She’s leading the way and championing young, obscure designers just like her musical counterparts Rihanna and Lady Gaga.



Cheryl’s style is polished, groomed and glossy. With a penchant for body con designer dresses, Cheryl always opts for cuts that accentuate her tiny yet perfectly formed doll-like curves. Strapless or one-shouldered numbers are a favourite and fall above the knee to show off those gorgeously toned pins. Cheryl likes her outfit to make a statement - incorporating a touch of sparkle where possible and keeping accessories minimal and chic.



Though Cheryl never really looks ‘off-duty’, on a day-to-day basis her style is more relaxed and she tends to go for more edgy ensembles. Always keeping the silhouette streamlined, skinny trousers and heels are a must. In recent weeks, we’ve seen Cheryl working the Balmain military inspired look with camouflage print trousers and tailored shirts worn with a belt to accentuate the waist. Cheryl keeps the look feminine by adding a pair of sky-high military style boots or shoes.



There is never a hair out of place, although she is a tad heavy handed with the fake tan. She experiments with her style and combines a fusion of classic glamour with trendy and edgy. Her look is always fresh and contemporary with a polished and gorgeously groomed finish.



Top tips for recreating Cheryl’s style:

Go for figure hugging dresses that fall above the knee

Trousers must always be skinny and worn with high heels

Add in a pair of oversized sunnies or aviators for daytime chic

Shirts, jackets and tops are often structured – bold shoulders are a favourite with Cheryl

Big hair, huge Bambi lashes and pink lips
