Rent vintage Chanel
Vintage Chanel pieces are to be made available to rent in an internet borrowing scheme.
Starting today, Rent the Runway will add vintage clothing to its fashion options. The site allows users to borrow items that retail at eye-watering prices for a more modest fee.
The site has partnered with Soho vintage shop What Goes Around Comes Around to add luxury label Chanel to its roster. The fashion house’s current designer is Karl Lagerfeld and its vintage pieces are among the most coveted among fashionistas.
Rent the Runway consulting fashion director Lucy Sykes is thrilled with the addition of Chanel pieces.
“For vintage, Chanel is the most glamorous and sought-after accessories and jewellery brand in the market today,” she told Style.com.
“To work with vintage Chanel products on any level is totally inspiring.”
For four or eight days, a $6,160 priced Coco Chanel bag can be a user’s for $350.
Rent the Runway enlisted the help of photographer Sophie Elgor to shoot the goods. Sykes also lead the direction of how they appeared to consumers.
“My inspiration was a little 60s and very dressed up,” she explained.
“I wanted to have fun with it and throw in some fabulous hot pink Prabal [Gurung] dresses and a totally chic Moschino black dress with a cute peplum.”
