Red carpet wrap: Kristen Wiig and Julia Roberts
Sometimes we're just too nice for our own good. We don't like to judge (well, not all the time). We do try to give undeserving people the benefit of the doubt time and again, y'know. And how do they repay us? With a masterclass in dowdiness -- if you're Kristen Wiig, that is.
We've had our eyes on her for a while now, so we're sad to report this is not, we repeat, NOT a once-off foray into the world of fashion faux pax by the super-talented but obviously sartorially challenged comedian.
It's just so sad.
She made us laugh until we cried in her hilarious movie Bridemaids and now we just want to cry seeing her in yet another horrendous number -- this unflattering embellished grey-and-orange monstrosity is possibly her worst yet.
Seriously, Kristen, it's time to get a stylist. You can surely afford it. Now we were just a little bit surprised by this. We were sure that Julia Roberts would wear a full-length and suitably fabulous gown at the premiere of her latest movie. After all, it's been a while since she flexed her super-star muscles in such a meaty role and her efforts have been rewarded by a Golden Globe nomination.
But that said, we do seriously admire the 46-year-old for taking such a daring fashion risk, and wow, it certainly paid off. Her vivid Proenza Schouler dress is sexy, sassy and shows off her fabulous legs. Great accessories too, especially those to-die-for heels.
We most definitely approve.
