'Really?' - Reporter learns the hard way not to ask Blake Lively about her 'power outfit'

Blake Lively was in no humour to talk about fashion after her powerful speech on child pornography in New York on Saturday.

The 29 year old star attended Variety's Power of Women luncheon to be honoured for her work with the Child Rescue Coalition which works against the distribution of child pornography.

On the red carpet, however, she was asked about her outfit by one female reporter, and it didn't go down well...

"Really? At this event you're asking me about my outfit?" she said.  "Seriously... would you ask a man that?"

She continued, "I'm here so we... become more aware, and that we change, and that we build [women up].  So, you can ask me another question."

Lively was wearing a jumpsuit by Brandon Maxwell, and the designer posted a pic to Instagram with a message relating to her charity work.

Lively's stance comes in the wake of the #AskHerMore campaign which encourages people to call out sexist reporting and, rather than focus on fashion etc, focus instead on women's achievements.

Why commenting on clothes doesn't make you less intelligent or less politically aware or engaged
