Paula Reed is Style Director at weekly fashion bible Grazia. She has appeared on Project Catwalk in the UK, the X Factor (to discuss the never-ending debate about Cheryl v Danni’s style) as well as being co-presenter on Twiggy’s Frock Exchange. I caught up with the busy fashionista as she was dishing out advice to the lucky customers in Brown Thomas recently.

You’ve been thriving in the fashion industry for years, what type of person do you need to be to make it in fashion?

I think you need to be a dedicated, passionate, hardworking person who is interested in new things

I was a packer on a production line in Germany as a student-that was hell!

What city springs to mind when you hear the word FASHION?

Guillaume Henry at Carven and Rodolfo Paglialunga at Vionnet.

What designer/high street collaboration are you most looking forward to?

+J Jil Saunder for Uniqlo

How was it being part of the Project Catwalk team?

Fun, but scary-beyond my comfort zone but I’m so glad I did it!

Is TV where its at for you?

It is part of what I do but the magazine is my favourite!

Who do you prefer Trinny & Suzanna or Gok?!

You’ve been frequently asked to comment on X Factor style. So, Danni or Cheryl?

Dannii! She is getting it right and looks amazing!

Knowing yourself and the ability to say “no”

Describe it in one word…

Trench Coat, Jeans, Black dress, Silk Blouse

Do you think Irish women have good style?

Yes, they are very glamorous

What piece of advice would you give them?

Don’t be a slave to trends, wear what works for you.
