'Off The Rails' pair plot UK boost for label
Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney are some of the top names in the line-up for the Arthur Cox Irish Fashion Showcase starting in London on September 12, followed by a show at Dublin's RDS the following week, and then it's NYC at the end of October.
Sonya and Brendan told The Diary they are hoping broadcaster Holly Willoughby, from This Morning on ITV, will help them to get their clothing range off the ground in the UK.
The Off The Rails hosts unveiled the first season of their collection at Arnotts earlier this year and are looking toward to Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2014.
Mother-of-two Sonya said: "We're pretty serious about this brand, but it has to grow out of Ireland if it's to be viable.
"The Irish support has been phenomenal, but it's not even near turning a profit yet. It takes so long to get to that point.
"Brendan is very good friends with Holly and with presenter Gaby Roslin, so part of the push into the UK will be to place it with people we know. I don't think Brendan has given Holly a piece yet, but it's on the cards.
"That would really take things to the next level."
The RTÉ stars have already been invited by ITV producers to appear on Holly's weekday show but are "holding off" until the range lands on shelves abroad.
