Peggy, Joan and the pneumatic, curvy women from 'Mad Men' will have to step aside and make room for a new TV style icon -- 70s poster girl and Farah Fawcett.
High street brand Oasis yesterday rolled out its spring-summer 2011 looks, including sleek sexy jumpsuits, flared pants and knitted dresses, all reminiscent of the Fawcett's 'Charlie's Angels' era.
They're back in vogue this year as a hippy luxe aesthetic finds favour with the style police. Also included in the collection is a silhouette-slim white trouser suit, very reminiscent of feather-haired Fawcett.
The white trouser suit gave more than a nod to the 'de rigueur' uniform for 70s style icons such as Bianca Jagger and fellow bon vivants from New York's Studio 54. Today's woman will have no problem adopting many of the 70s looks that feature elegant draping, flower print powers and skater skirt A-line dresses, all favourites at the Oasis preview in its St Stephen's Green store in Dublin yesterday.
